Nice Job Seniors! KYF Victory.
Some years it just seems like nothing goes your way - but in all my year’s of coaching football I’m not sure I’ve seen a string of bad luck like your KYF Seniors are experiencing this year with injuries. Coach Center has been forced to change his lineup weekly… Think I’m exaggerating????? HERE IS A LIST of the injuries your Seniors have been forced to deal with THIS YEAR:
1 broken ankle. Outside of football (Pete Gonzalez)
4 concussions(IJ, Colton, Guerro, Allen)
2 neck injuries(Auston twice, Allan)
1 fractured humorous(Trace)
1 hyper extended knee(Noah)
1 sprained wrist(Noah)
2 high sprained ankles(Dabbs, Grant)
1 knee injury. (IJ)
1 calf/shin injury (Martinez)
1 back injury (Cervantes)
1 Strained hip (Luciano)
And in this last game Colton Smith who had never played QB before but had stepped into the roll out of necessity and was doing GREAT…
1 fractured clavicle(Colton)
AND YET… this week your KYF Seniors had their best performance of the year. It’s been tough, it has been a war…. but this group of young KYF Athletes deserves a standing ovation for perseverence.
I offer, and I hope you join me… my HIGHEST PRAISE for the effort, sportsmanship, and fulfillment of true KYF Spirit that this group of 2014 players and coaches have given to 1 Town - 1 Team - 1 Dream.. it’s never been represented better.
